Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is official, with more details to be revealed on April 24

The long-rumored Black Flag remake is finally confirmed!

After over a year of remake rumors, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is finally official, with more details to be shared later this week.

Since early 2025, rumors have swirled online about a Black Flag remake. This was further supported by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot’s confirmation that Assassin’s Creed remakes will be developed eventually. Given that Black Flag is easily one of the most beloved games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, coupled with the fact that pirate adventure games continue to get plenty of attention, it’s clear that a remake of the fourth mainline AC title is something fans are hoping to see.

Finally, Ubisoft confirmed Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, a remake of the popular AC game released back in 2013. While there’s not a lot of info shared regarding the remake, we won’t have to wait long for news. That’s because Ubisoft will hold an official reveal this week, April 24 at 12 midnight PH time, to be exact. This showcase will be released on YouTube and Twitch.

While the new mainline entries in Ubisoft’s signature franchise continue to be quite popular (with Assassin’s Creed Shadows meeting the studio’s expectations), it’s fair to say that remakes are for the older titles. After all, many games have gotten the remake treatement over the past couple of years. Plus, while Black Flag is still a fun game over a decade after its launch, it would be nice to see it get big upgrades on the visual and gameplay fronts.

Hopefully, Black Flag Resynced also gets a release date announcement during the official reveal.
