Mobile photography is set to reach a new peak as the HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro Max gets an official launch in China. The premium photo-centric flagship is the brand’s next step in their imaging strategy, led by a groundbreaking 200-megapixel RYYB periscope telephoto sensor. By utilizing a Red-Yellow-Yellow-Blue color spectrum instead of traditional RGB, the device captures significantly more light, enabling professional-grade detail even in challenging low-light scenarios. This massive sensor allows for near-optical quality video at 20x zoom and pushes boundaries with a 216x digital zoom when paired with an optional camera extender kit.

The visual identity of the device showcases a bold transformation, marking a much-welcome return to vibrant gradient finishes that change shade depending on the angle of light. The “Orange Ocean” variant, for instance, blends a cool sea blue into a warm orange, housed in a structured flat frame design that enhances structural integrity. This aesthetic is paired with extreme durability, as the device features next-generation Kunlun glass and holds both IP68 and IP69 certifications, ensuring it can withstand high-pressure water jets and high temperatures.
Internally, the device is powered by the new Kirin 9030S chipset, which emphasizes advanced artificial intelligence. Running on HarmonyOS 6.1, the system delivers a 200% boost in AI image understanding and a 110% upgrade in telephoto clarity, ensuring every shot captured by the triple-camera unit is a masterpiece. The imaging suite is rounded out by a 50-megapixel primary camera with LOFIC technology and a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. To sustain these features, a large 6,000mAh battery supports 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. Beyond hardware, the software introduces an integrated AI agent and advanced object removal tools to help users effortlessly polish their captures.
The HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,499 (approx. PHP 58,000) for the 12GB and 256GB model, while the top-tier 16GB and 1TB variant retails for CNY 8,599 (approx. 76,000 PHP).
