HONOR 600 Pro Review | Geek Lifestyle

The HONOR 600 Pro is a capable device that brandishes its AI features with finesse.

We’ve had our hands on the HONOR 600 Pro for a hot minute now, and put it through the wringer, as one does. Yes, doomscrolling, mobile gaming, binge-watching, and snapping photos of just about anything remotely aesthetic–and we have thoughts.

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: AI. In 2025, every smartphone brand and their grandma was tossing “AI-powered” into the conversation like seasoning on fries. HONOR, however, seems intent on making it less of a gimmick and more of a genuine day-to-day companion. Whether that ambition fully sticks depends on your use case, sure. But after spending a decent amount of time with the device, we’d say they’re onto something here.

That said, the HONOR 600 Pro isn’t just a one-trick pony trying to woo you with fancy software. Packing a sizable battery, a rather capable camera system, a sleek premium design, and enough horsepower for your gaming sessions, this latest addition to HONOR’s lineup just might be one of the more quietly compelling smartphones to hit the scene.

So, let’s talk about it.

Geeksthetic

First things first: that orange colorway? Bold without trying too hard. Kind of the smartphone equivalent of showing up overdressed and somehow still pulling it off.

Give the HONOR 600 Pro a spin and you’ll quickly notice just how premium things feel. It’s sleek, slim, and remarkably comfortable to hold, especially considering the current trend of smartphones trying their absolute hardest to become mini tablets. Compared to much of the midrange competition, this thing feels refreshingly compact with its 156 x 74.7 x 7.8 mm chassis. It’s barely 6 inches–and sadly, that’s not what she said.

The matte finish and flat edges keep things classy while maintaining enough grip to avoid accidental heart attacks every time you pull it out of your pocket. At just under 200 grams, it won’t be flying out of your pocket either. It’s sleek enough to feel modern, secure enough not to betray you. We appreciate that.

Now, the camera module. Ah yes. If it looks suspiciously familiar… well, if you know, you know. We’ll simply say it’s inspired. Still, it works. It looks premium, carries enough visual flair to stand out, and doesn’t feel obnoxiously oversized.

If your concern is durability–then you haven’t been keeping up with HONOR. Boasting SGS 5-stars Premium Performance Certification for drop & crush resistance, you’re pretty much covered. It will most definitely survive. Couple that with the ever-present IP68/IP69/IP69K all-around water and dust resistance and you’re pretty much golden, no matter how orange your colorway is.

Binge-watching Factor

Let’s talk about that display, shall we?

The HONOR 600 Pro’s AMOLED display is, for lack of a better word, ridiculously pleasant to look at. At 6.57 inches diagonally with a 1264 x 2728 resolution, that quip about screen real estate comes up once more. Whether we were catching up on TV shows, doomscrolling social media, or spending an unhealthy amount of time watching K-pop music videos in absurdly high definition, everything looked vivid, crisp, and wonderfully punchy. We’re also glad to see that 120Hz has pretty much become the standard nowadays. We need that buttery smoothness in our day-to-day, regardless of what we’re browsing.

Brightness is also impeccable at a maximum 8000 nits. Outdoor visibility? No problem. Under broad daylight, content remained perfectly legible without forcing us into awkward hand-over-screen gymnastics just to see what was happening.

In terms of eye-care, this device has a lot. It’s mostly carried by some sweet 3840Hz risk-free PWM dimming which does its job adequately, as it has since the HONOR 90. As such, brightness scaling feels measured and comfortable in darker environments, making those late-night rabbit holes significantly easier on the eyes.

As for audio, the stereo speakers are clear, loud enough, and surprisingly clean. No weird muddiness, no unpleasant crackling when things get busy. Whether it was dialogue-heavy shows or bass-heavy playlists, the experience remained satisfyingly immersive.

Gaming Prowess

Ah yes, mobile gaming–arguably the quickest way to find out whether your smartphone is built different or simply built for disappointment.

For our testing, we put the HONOR 600 Pro and its Snapdragon 8 Elite processor coupled with 12GB or RAM through a couple of familiar stress tests: Wuthering Waves and Honor of Kings. Since this chipset is just the right amount of overkill (we’re looking at you, Gen 5), we expected good results right off the bat.

Starting with the former, we ran Wuthering Waves at medium to high settings and came away pleasantly surprised. Gameplay remained seamless throughout our sessions, with no major hiccups, frame drops, or moments where the device decided to have an existential crisis mid-combat.

As for Honor of Kings, we cranked things all the way up and let it rip. Predictably, performance was smooth as butter.

Now, did it heat up? Sure–but not alarmingly so. More “gentle warmth” than “portable frying pan,” which is exactly what you’d want from a phone expected to handle longer sessions. Even after extended gameplay, things remained comfortable enough in hand. Of course, if you want to run the gauntlet and install HoYo’s entire catalogue, you have 512GB of storage at your disposal. Go wild!

Safe to say, for your everyday gaming needs–and even a fair amount of heavier lifting–this device can absolutely keep up.

Geek Photoshoot Capabilities

Now, onto what might quietly be one of this phone’s strongest selling points: the cameras.

We’re talking about quite the sophisticated camera setup backed up by some beefy AI. A 200MP Ultra-clear Night Camera for when you want to shoot from the hip, a 50MP Periscope Telephoto Camera for more artistic pursuits, and a 12MP Ultrawide and Macro Camera for when you want to step back. For the latter, we’re genuinely glad it wasn’t some rinky dink 8MP lens thrown in like a last-minute requirement. 12 is decent, and maybe we’ll get 50 next time.

Under good lighting, the HONOR 600 Pro delivers some genuinely great results. Photos come out detailed, punchy, and social-media-ready without looking aggressively overprocessed. Point, shoot, upload. Nice and easy.

Dimmer environments also held up surprisingly well. A bit of noise if there’s too much movement,  but manageable. As for portraits, you can expect the same good amount of bokeh as Studio Harcourt is most definitely here to stay.

And selfies? Pretty darn good. Now, zoom gets particularly interesting. Just take not that if you want the bokeh effect, you’ll be sacrificing some focal length.

The 50MP telephoto lens definitely puts in work, though it becomes increasingly clear where AI begins lending a helping hand once you venture beyond 20X zoom territory. To be fair, that’s hardly unusual in today’s smartphone landscape. At practical zoom ranges, however, results are quite usable.

What’s particularly exciting here is the sense that there’s still room for improvement. Firmware updates tend to do wonders for smartphone cameras, and if HONOR continues tuning things behind the scenes, this setup could get even better over time.

AI Sorcery

Alright, let’s talk AI–because HONOR certainly wants you to.

The headline-grabber here is AI Image-to-Video, and admittedly, it’s a pretty neat party trick with legitimate entertainment value. Watching still images spring to life feels equal parts impressive and mildly terrifying, depending on what exactly you decide to feed it.

That said, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t slightly curious (and mildly concerned) about how pricing for this feature may evolve over time. Given that it’s one of the device’s flagship selling points, we’re hoping access remains reasonably affordable in the long run.

Still, during our review period, it proved fun to mess around with–and surprisingly engaging.

Meanwhile, the AI Button turned out to be far more useful than we initially expected. A couple of quick taps brings you to an assigned feature of your choice (for us, it’s HONOR AI), and a long press allows you to do Circle to Search by default alongside an AI feature suitable for whatever’s on-screen.

Don’t get me wrong, though. We’re only scratching the surface of this device’s AI offerings. Of course, we have ol’ faithful Google Gemini, AI translate for chat, interpreter, call translation, and AI subtitles–only to name a few.

Everyday Reliability

Using the HONOR 600 Pro as a daily driver? Easy recommendation.

That 7000 mAh battery, in particular, deserves its flowers. With average day-to-day use, we comfortably managed roughly two days of usage while still keeping around 20% left in the tank. That kind of endurance sneaks up on you, too.

Oddly enough, you stop noticing battery life when it’s good. The percentage ticks down at roughly the same pace as any other device–until you suddenly realize it’s been well over 24 hours and you’re still nowhere near panic territory. Charging also gets you back to action quickly enough that downtime feels minimal. 80 watts is good enough to get the job done in just under an hour.

As for wireless charging, the feature is present and certainly welcome for a device in this category, and you can do so up to 50 watts. Also, given how massive the battery is, you can actually engage in some nice 27 watt wired reverse charging shenanigans. For something so small, there’s quite a lot of juice within.

As it runs without a hitch via MagicOS 10 and Android 16, you need not worry about productivity. An extra 12GB of RAM via expansion helps with multi-tasking as well.

What can we say? Daily drive this bad boy as hard as you want.

Geek Lifestyle Final Verdict

What impressed us most is how it never feels overly reliant on AI to justify its existence. Strip all the flashy software away and you’re still left with a genuinely solid smartphone–one that delivers strong cameras, dependable gaming performance, excellent battery life, and an undeniably premium feel.

Of course, your mileage may vary depending on what you value most. If you’re looking for cutting-edge mobile photography or AI-assisted creative tools with genuine entertainment value, there’s plenty to enjoy here. If all you want is a dependable daily driver that lasts ages on a single charge, well, the HONOR 600 Pro comfortably checks that box too.

For the 12GB + 512GB variant, we’re looking at a whopping PHP 49,999. We’re also looking at some nice pre-order freebies like a FREE HONOR gift box worth PHP 1,499 from May 14-29 and FREE HONOR Choice Earbuds Clip worth PHP 4,999 when you claim on May 30, 2026. For the pre-order raffle fiveaway, buyers get a chance to win the brand-new Mercedes-Benz EQA 250. Pretty sweet.

Now, let’s address a small–but growing elephant in the room: pricing. That’s a roughly PHP 20,000 increase from the previous generation, and it could be a cause for concern to anyone who makes the yearly upgrade–which is unadvisable to begin with, but somewhat manageable until previously. Of course, we can’t blame brands solely for this as there are certain things happening across the pond triggering this. That being said, if you’re strapped for cash–do consider your options.
