HUAWEI unveils the WATCH FIT 5 Series and WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing

Meet HUAWEI's new smartwatch lineup!

At the “Now Is Your Spark” Innovative Launch in Bangkok, HUAWEI revealed its new wearables lineup, including the WATCH FIT 5 Series and WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing Limited Edition.

Over the years, we’ve seen some great releases in the WATCH FIT family, and now, the latest series promises to deliver even more smart tracking and fitness features. Both the WATCH FIT 5 and WATCH FIT 5 Pro come with the series’ signature square silhouette, though they now have more vibrant designs.

While both watches feature lots of workout and health tracking modes, one of the highlight features is the array of accessible mini-workouts. During the launch event, we got to try out some mini 10-minute desk workouts, which should be great for office workers, as this allows them to squeeze in some activity during the workday. By completing mini-workouts, you can also unlock backgrounds, which is a neat way to make them more rewarding.

As for the differences between the two, the WATCH FIT 5 Pro features a titanium build paired with 2.5D sapphire glass, making it a device that’s built to withstand punishment. It also has ECG functionality and diabetic risk study features, along with an array of workout modes, as well as up to 10 days of battery life.

There’s also the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5, which is the more affordable version made for everyday wear. Even though it’s more accessible, it still packs over 100 sports modes, mini-workouts, and a comprehensive array of health management features.

Ahead of the launch event, we got to test out the WATCH FIT 5 for a bit. You can check out our impressions of the watch here.

Along with the FIT lineup, HUAWEI also introduced the WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition. This is a pro-level watch that’s made for marathons.

The highlight features of this watch include the new Running Ability Index (RAI) and an upgraded Training Camp Dashboard. This combo should give runners more in-depth performance insights to aid in their training and competitions.

Pricing and availability of the new HUAWEI smartwatches in the Philippines will be shared soon.
