One Piece recently revealed the interim results for the World Top 100 2nd character poll (aka the 8th character popularity poll), and it once again sees Luffy and Zoro take the top spots.
Over the years, One Piece has gotten seven character popularity polls. The seventh poll was called the “World Top 100,” as it was the first poll that featured voters from across the world. Voting was held from January to February 2021, and it was Luffy, Zoro, and Nami who took the top three spots.
Now, the next poll is ongoing, and it’s called the “One Piece World Top 100 2nd.” While voting is live until June 11 on the official website, the interim results have been shared on the official One Piece X account.
Unsusprisingly, Luffy and Zoro grabbed 1st and 2nd place, respectively. This makes sense, given that Luffy and Zoro are ranked 1 and 2 in nearly all the previous polls. It was only in the 5th poll that Zoro was overtaken by Trafalgar Law.
Rounding out the top three in the 8th One Piece popularity poll is Sanji, who has swapped places with Nami this time. Aside from this change, the rest of the top 6 from the 7th poll remain the same.
Here’s a look at the top 30 characters in the initial results:
1. Monkey D.Luffy
2. Roronoa Zoro
3. Sanji
4. Nami
5. Trafalgar Law (Trafalgar D. Water Law)
6. Nico Robin
7. Portgas D. Ace
8. Shanks

Because voting is still open until June 11, we might still see these rankings change. If you ask us though, we expect the top 10 spots to remain mostly the same.
One Piece will also reveal the interim results for the character rankings by region on May 11. Specifically, the top-ranked characters in Japan, Asia, Oceania, North America, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will be revealed.
