At Summer Game Fest, SHIFT UP unveiled Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, the sequel to 2024’s Stellar Blade that the studio will self-publish.
As it has just been two years since Stellar Blade’s release, a sequel to the game was something most SGF 2026 viewers probably didn’t expect. What’s even more surprising is that, instead of being just a short cinematic trailer (or worse, just a title reveal), we got a proper reveal trailer that featured in-engine footage. The trailer also showed off Blood Rain’s new protagonist, Evie, who has some killer moves.
You can check out the new trailer here:
Even though the game features a new protagonist, SHIFT UP stated that this new installment is set in the same universe as the first Stellar Blade. It also promises to “continue the story beyond the events of the first game.”
Along with some new details about the game, SHIFT UP also confirmed that it will self-publish Blood Rain. As the previous game was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it was a PS5 exclusive for nearly a year.
While there’s no official info yet regarding which platforms Blood Rain will be launched on, given that SHIFT UP is self-publishing it, we’ll likely see the game get a multi-platform release on day 1.
For now, there’s no word on a release date for Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, so we’re hoping that SHIFT UP shares more details soon.
