Buddy Pokémon – Distance required for the Candy Reward

Distance needed to gain candy rewards for your buddy Pokémon varies per Pokémon. Best to choose a buddy Pokémon which is rare, or a Pokémon which you need to get more candies for Evolution or Power up. May we suggest Magikarp, so you can finally collect candies to evolve it to the mighty Gyrados!  (Tip: Magikarp only needs 1KM to earn a candy).

For a Buddy Pokémon, SilphRoad have a created this Pokémon GO Buddy – Candy reward chart which displays the distance needed to earn a candy reward for your ‘Buddy’ Pokemon. The list is being updated, to see full list visit this site.

Also fair warning for those who are using a rooted or jailbroken device, the app will more likely to stop working after the update. We tried the update with a rooted Nexus 5 running CyanogenMod 13, and the screen displayed this:

Seems Niantic Labs is dead serious on their fight against bots and scrappers from scrapers from Pokémon GO. If you use a rooted or jailbroken device, we recommend not to update your app, so you can continue playing the game. This however will make some features might not work smoothly.
