OPPO’s best-selling shooter, the OPPO Reno2, made a believer out of us when we took it for a spin on an ATV challenge last week. OPPO Reno2’s claim to fame is its Ultra Steady Stabilization, a feature that not a lot of smartphone brands have. It’s also why OPPO shifted its main focus from photo to video with the Reno2 and the Reno2 F.

#AnyoneIsAStoryTeller became the central theme of the press preview and the launch that happened this afternoon. With this theme, Various storytellers graced the event and swore by the phone’s capability to cut your production time by giving you the best tools you can work with.

We tested it out on the bumpy, dustry, grimmey dirt road in Antipolo and we got the video to prove it:

Aside from a camera with Image Stabilization that rivals that of gimbals, the OPPO Reno 2 has some nice hardware under the hood. The Reno2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, 8 Gigs of RAM, 256 Gigs of Internal Storage and a 4000mah battery with VOOC Flash Charging 3.0.

The catch of the Reno 2, is the price.

Revealed at PHP 28,990, the OPPO Reno 2 costs a bit more than its predecessor, a move that may not be the most palatable to a lot of people. Still, with the leap in advancement from its predecessor, and with specs stepping into flagship territory, the price is quite competitive. The only thing you’ll have to ask yourself is, do you really need a smartphone that can take sweeping, tracking shots smoothly? If yes, then the Reno 2 is definitely worth considering.

Aside from the Reno 2, OPPO also made the Reno 2F official. Priced at PHP 19,990, the Reno 2F is a more wallet-friendly variant of the Reno 2, and it packs a pop-up selfie camera (that uses a more standard pop-up module), a Helio P70 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery.
