Avowed gets first gameplay trailer at Xbox Games Showcase 2023

It’s been years since it was originally revealed, but finally, Avowed got its first gameplay trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023.

The game was originally revealed back in 2020, and since then, we haven’t seen much from Obsidian Entertainment about this game. Finally though, we have our first proper look at gameplay for this first-person RPG.

Avowed is set in Eora which is also where Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity series is set. Though this game promises to offer a different view of the said series, not only because of its first-person perspective, but also with its sword and magic combat system.

The game’s premise is described as (via the game’s official website):

Explore the Living Lands, a mysterious island filled with adventure and danger. As an envoy of Aedyr, you are sent to investigate rumors of a spreading plague with a secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save the island and your soul from the forces threatening to tear them apart?

Avowed will be released sometime in 2024 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. As with all first-party Xbox games, Avowed will also be available on Day One with Game Pass.
