Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal is now officially renewed for a third season and is currently under production, with Adult Swim announcing the series renewal.

Upon the series renewal, Tartakovsky described the show as “Primal has become a contagious disease that I don’t ever want to cure. Every episode flows out like an unstoppable force beyond my control.”.

Tartakovsky had initially planned the show to become an Anthology, having different characters with different stories in each episode, although the two seasons of the series mostly focused on its main characters Spear and Fang, concluding the former’s story.

Although, the idea of turning the show into an anthology was still present with season 2’s episode 5 titled “The Primal Theory”, with Primal getting its third season we might get an anthology-styled season.
