Justin Roiland’s replacement for Solar Opposites has been revealed
Solar Opposites will replace Justin Roiland with Downton abbey star Dan Stevens.
Now that it’s confirmed that Justin Roiland, the co-creator and voice actor of the popular sci-fi adult cartoon Rick and Morty, won’t be returning to its upcoming season, Roiland won’t also be reprising his role on yet another cartoon show that he also co-created.
The trailer of the new season 4 of Hulu’s Solar Opposites revealed that Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) will replace Roiland’s role as the series’ main character Korvo. The teaser of the upcoming season also revealed the canon explanation why Korvo will sound different as the show moves forward.
Both Adult Swim and Hulu severed their ties with Justin Roiland after he was connected to cases of domestic abuse, but earlier this year, all charges against Roiland were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. Despite the charges being dropped, all shows that he was involved will carry on without him.
As of the time of the writing, Rick and Morty hasn’t found a replacement for Roiland, which might be a challenge considering that Roiland plays both the show’s titular character, Rick and Morty. But the showrunners stated that the series will still be good despite the absence of its former voice actor and co-creator.
Meanwhile, Solar Opposites’ new season will premiere on Hulu on August 14, 2023.
