After its theatrical run last year, the One Piece Film: Red movie is coming to the Philippines this December in its remastered version.

The film’s remastered version is currently listed on the SM Cinemas website. Based on the listing, the remastered One Piece movie will get a fan’s screening in the Philippines on December 9, 2023, at SM Megamall.

Soon after the listing went live, SM Cinema shared via its official Facebook page that the film will get a wide release in the PH on December 13, 2023.

Given that this will be a fan’s screening, you can expect tickets to come with a bunch of One Piece goodies. More details are expected to be released soon by ODEX Philippines.

One Piece Film: Red is the latest film in the long-running franchise. and it quickly became the highest-grossing One Piece movie.

The film’s premise is described as:

“Uta — the most beloved singer in the world. Her voice, which she sings with while concealing her true identity, has been described as ‘otherworldly.’ She will appear in public for the first time at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans — excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance — the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is ‘Shanks’ daughter.'”

As for One Piece Film: Red Remastered, this version of the film was released in Japanese cinemas back in October. The key difference between the original and the remaster is that it is based on the 4K edition of the movie which was also used for the Blu-ray. It’s not clear if there will be different or additional scenes in this version.

Whatever the case may be, Film: Red’s re-release in cinemas should be good news for those who missed its theatrical run last year, as well as for those who want to relive Uta’s impressive musical numbers.
