Crunchyroll recently went on stage at Anime Expo 2026 to reveal some exciting anime projects, along with new trailers for previously revealed titles.
One of the biggest announcements from Crunchyroll at the event was Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, the upcoming anime film that will serve as a direct follow-up to Season 2. Yes, this means this movie will not just be a compilation film.
It was revealed on stage by Aleks Le, the English voice of Sung Jinwoo. There, the first teaser visual for the film was revealed, and it was confirmed to currently be in production by A-1 Pictures. More details about the movie will be shared soon.
Next, Crunchyroll shared new character illustrations for Ghost of Tsushima Legends. This upcoming anime is based on PlayStation’s hit game, Ghost of Tsushima, and it will be directed by Takanobu Mizuno. Writing the script are Satoshi Maejima and Gen Urobuchi, with KAMIKAZE DOUGA handling animation duties.
While the new character illustrations were revealed, the anime has no release date yet. More info about its premiere will be shared at a later date.
What did get a release date window is The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy At All, the highly anticipated adaptation of the hit yuri manga series. This series will premiere in Early 2027.
At Anime Expo 2026, Crunchyroll shared a special video message from Dave Grohl (of Nirvana and Foo Fighters fame), who revealed that the Nirvana song “Breed” will serve as teh anime’s opening theme.
What also got the spotlight at Crunchyroll’s Anime Expo stage was Kagurabachi. There, fans in attendance were treated to an exclusive Q&A with Chihiro Rokuhira’s Japanese voice actor, Taihi Kimura.
