Fresh after revealing its release date at the XBOX Games Showcase, Atlus announced that it has teamed up with MAPPA for Persona 4 Revival anime scenes.
To be exact, Atlus revealed via the Persona series official X account that it has tapped MAPPA (the studio behind mega-hit shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man) to animate the new cutscenes for the upcoming Persona 4 remake. The announcement came with a visual featuring the MAPPA logo alongside character art of the game’s main cast.

As MAPPA has a pretty strong track record of anime projects, the new animated cutscenes for Persona 4 Revival should look great. Hopefully, we get a proper preview of them in the months leading up to the game’s release.
MAPPA being chosen to work on cutscenes is a bit interesting, and it continues the trend of Atlus working with different anime studios for Persona titles. For Persona 3 Reload, Atlus tapped WIT Studio (Spy x Family, One Piece Remake) for the cutscenes. As for Persona 5, Atlus worked with Production I.G (Kaiju No. 8, Psycho-Pass) for the anime scenes.
While we wait for a preview of MAPPA’s new cutscenes, Atlus shared some new sizzle reels for P4’s protagonist, along with Rise Kujikawa. You can check them out here:
Persona 4 Revival will be released on February 18, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
