It has been two years since the second season was confirmed, and now, Kadokawa and Netflix have revealed that Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 will premiere in October 2027.
The first season of Delicious in Dungeon proved to be quite a hit, enough that a second season was announced shortly after the first season ended back in June 2024. Its popularity and subsequent renewal make a lot of sense, given that the show has a creative fantasy story, lovable characters, and some great animation courtesy of Trigger.
Since the second season’s announcement, there has been no new info about the show. Thankfully, we finally have word that Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 will come back in October next year. This was revealed alongside a new key visual, featuring the show’s main cast. The visual was shared on the Netflix Anime X account, confirming that the show will once again be a Netflix streaming exclusive.
Even though we’ll have to wait more than a year for the show to return, it’s likely that the second season will complete the story. While there’s no confirmation yet that the second season will also have 24 episodes, this is probably going to be the case, given that a 24-episode season will be perfect to adapt the rest of the manga’s story (as Season 1 ended at around the halfway point).
For now, we’ll have to wait a while before more details are revealed. On the bright side, we do have plenty of exciting anime to look forward to, with Trigger also working on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which premieres later this year.
