After its reveal back in August last year, HoYoverse shared new details on the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/stay night collab, including the two playable characters, Archer and Saber.
To be exact, more details about this collab were revealed during the recent Honkai: Star Rail 2nd Anniversary Concert. There, it was confirmed that the upcoming event titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail” will feature popular Fate Servants Archer and Saber as playable characters. What’s more, these two iconic characters will be featured in the event’s upcoming storyline.
As a bonus, when the event begins, players can log-in and receive the limited 5-star character Archer (The Hunt: Quantum) for free.
As for Saber, players can get this limited 5-star character via the Event Warp during the collab period.
Plus, the official Archer and Saber Honkai: Star Rail illustrations were shared. These new artworks of the two Servants were created by Type-Moon co-founder Takashi Takeuchi. For those unfamiliar, Takeuchi is the original illustrator of the Fate series.
Meanwhile, the collab’s story is supervised by Fate series creator, Kinoko Nasu. As such, fans will be happy to know that this new story will be true to the spirit of the Fate series.
It’s fair to say that this collab is one that both Honkai and Fate fans are looking forward to. After all, this is the first-ever collab event for HSR, not to mention that Fate/stay night is one of the most popular media franchises in Japan.
What’s worth noting is that this is not a collab with the popular Fate/Grand Order gacha game. Instead, it’s a crossover with Unlimited Blade Works, ufotable’s popular anime adaptation of the Fate/stay night visual novel’s Unlimited Blade Works arc. This makes sense considering HSR and FGO can be seen as competitors, at least given that both are popular gacha titles.
Honkai: Star Rail is now available on PC, iOS, Android, Epic Games Store, and PS5. Meanwhile, the collab event will go live on July 11, 2025. More details about the Fate collab will be shared soon.
