When Square Enix is mentioned, chances are that you’ll think of popular JRPG franchises like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. Over the years though, we’ve seen some unexpected releases from Square Enix, to varying degrees of success.
The publisher’s latest project is Killer Inn, a new multiplayer game being developed by Tactic Studios. While it’s described as a “multiplayer murder mystery action game,” you can sum up this game’s premise as Werewolf with third-person asymmetrical action mechanics. In a way, you can think of Killer Inn as Among Us meets Dead by Daylight, but in a Clue-inspired setting.
How the game works is that 24 players will take part in a one-night-only murder mystery game. Of the 24 players, 8 will be the wolves while the rest of the 16 players are the lambs. The goal of the wolves is to blend in and eliminate the lambs. Meanwhile, the lambs must sniff out hte wolves by looking for clues.
What makes this intriguing is that it features third-person action mechanics, meaning it promises to deliver some exciting moments. There’s also the fact that each character has a unique set of skills that encourage specific playstyles.

Killer Inn will be released on PC via Steam, though there’s no word yet on a release date.
