Mortal Kombat II to release in the Philippines on October 22

Warner Bros. also shared new character posters for the movie.

Warner Bros. Pictures recently shared the official trailer for Mortal Kombat II ahead of its release in the Philippines later this year.

This upcoming movie is a sequel to the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie (not to be confused with the Mortal Kombat 1 game released in 2023). For Mortal Kombat fans in the Philippines, this sequel’s release should be an exciting one. After all, the previous movie did not get a cinema release here, given that theaters only fully opened in 2022 due to the quarantine restrictions at the time.

In the Philippines, Mortal Kombat II will be released in cinemas on October 22, 2025. To give you a better idea of what to expect, you can check out the film’s official trailer here:

Mortal Kombat II stars Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

Meanwhile, the film’s premise is described as:

From New Line Cinema comes the latest high-stakes installment in the blockbuster video game franchise in all its brutal glory, “Mortal Kombat II.” This time, the fan favorite champions – now joined by Johnny Cage himself – are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.

Along with the new trailer, Warner Bros. Pictures also shared 16 official character posters:

As there are still a couple of months before this movie’s PH release, we expect more details, including the official cinema list, to be shared closer to its premiere date.
