Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.5 to launch on August 13

HSR Version 3.5 will add Hysilens and Imperator Cerydra.

After fans across SEA were delighted by the big HoYo FEST celebrations, Honkai Star Rail players are set to be treated to even more content with the launch of Version 3.5 this month.

This new version update is titled “Before Their Deaths,” and it will go live on August 13, featuring the kickoff of the Amphoreus story’s second half. There, Trailblazers will encounter new characters and face off against new fresh enemies.

The global interactive entertainment brand HoYoverse announced today that Honkai: Star Rail’s new Version 3.5 “Before Their Deaths” will go live on August 13. This update officially kicks off the second half of the Amphoreus story. Trailblazers will encounter new companions, confront fresh enemies and events, and witness old friends in entirely new forms. Hysilens and Cerydra will also make their long-awaited debut as playable characters, joining players in the next leg of the Amphorean trailblazing expedition.

HoYoverse describes the update’s new story content as:

In the previous chapter, the Trailblazer made a promise to Phainon and took up the mantle of the Deliverer. In return, Phainon unleashed their blazing wrath upon Nanook, once again forcing Irontomb’s advance to a halt. Yet the journey is far from over, rescuing Amphoreus remains an unavoidable challenge. In the new Trailblaze Mission, the Trailblazer will accompany Cyrene into another cycle of Eternal Recurrence, traveling back a thousand years to the ancient Okhema. This was the age when Imperator Cerydra, the holder of the Law Coreflame, ruler of Okhema, Aglaea’s predecessor, still sat upon the throne of Okhema.

For many players, the highlight of this new update is the addition of Hysilens and Cerydra, two new five-star characters.

Hysilens is the commander of the holy city’s knights, and a 5-star Physical-Type character following the Path of Nihility. She excels when paired with characters who specialize in damage over time. That’s because, when she uses her Ultimate, Hysilens creates a Zone. As the Zone is active, each instance of DoT inflicted on enemies will trigger an additional DoT from her, all while reducing ATK and DEF of enemies.

What’s more, her Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate each have a chance to apply a random type of DoT. Plus, Hysilens’ increases the DMG enemies take.

Next up is Imperator Cerydra, the holder of the Law Coreflame and a 5-Star Wind-Type character. Cerydra’s specialty is long-term planning and command, as such, her Skill grants an ally a buff called “Military Merit,” increasing the ally’s ATK and dealing additional DMG.

Military Merit also levels up as the battle continues, increasing CRIT DMG and All-Type RES PEN when using Skills for the affected ally. Then, her Ultimate ability deals DMG to all enemies and obtains Charge for herself, making her a potent support.

Along with the new characters, the limited 5-stars Stellaron Hunter Kafka and Silver Wolf will return in the first and second halves of the Version 3.5 warp event.

To go along with the new characters, Version 3.5 also features a brand-new map, giving players a new glimpse into Styxia, the City of Infinite Revelry. The version update also adds an array of in-game events, including the “Chrysos Maze Grand Restaurant” event which features a restaurant mini-game, as well as the “Old Brews & New Friends” event which tasks players with mixing drinks at the “Dreamjolt Hostelry.”

Finally, Version 3.5 will add a voice toggle feature for collaboration characters. With this, players will be able to switch their characters’ voices (including interaction, combat, and idle voice lines) between the in-game dub and the original licensed voice actors.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.5 will launch on August 13 on all platforms. For more info on the update, visit the official HSR website.
