Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame launches on October 31

Here's a rundown of what to expect in this upcoming Path of Exile expansion!

Following a recent teaser, Grinding Gear Games has finally revealed details about the Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame expansion that’s coming on October 31.

For many fans, the highlight of this latest expansion is the return of the Breach league. There are other big additions though, including new Ascendancy options with Bloodline Classes, the Asynchronous trade system, quality of life enhancements, and more.

To start, there’s Breach. This league appeared nearly a decade ago, so its return is something that plenty of fans are excited about. While the new Breach league will feature familiar core mechanics, new additions are here to spice things up. Aside from powerful foes, the Breach gameplay loop should feel a bit fresher this time around with the introduction of the Genesis Tree.

At the Monastery of the Keepers, players will uncover the Genesis Tree. As players work closely with Ailith to uncover more Breach encounters, players will be able to grow the Genesis Tree, giving them access to Currency, Uniques, Equipment, and Grafts. These Grafts are new enhancements that give players new skills or defenses. For instance, there’s Squalling Tulgraft which casts Dance in the White, creating a deadly ice tornado that tracks enemies.

There are sixteen different Grafts with powerful skills. This, coupled with the equipment and uniques that players can get in the Genesis Tree, means the Breach gameplay loop should feel even more compelling to play.

Along with Breach, the new expansion will also feature new Skill and Support Gems, giving players even more options during combat.

Keepers of the Flame also introduces the Bloodline Ascendancy Classes, allowing players to absorb the essence of foes that they defeat. These can be unlocked on a character-by-character basis by defeating certain endgame bosses. Players can also decide if they should allocate points in their original Ascendancy or their Bloodline class.

Speaking of bosses, the expansion will have three new Uber Incarnation boss fights. These are challenging fights, and as such, access can be earned to fight them via fragments dropped by Tier 17 Map Bosses. While challenging, these fights also offer powerful rewards.

Players will also be happy to know that the Fully Asynchronous Trade feature from Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict is finally being added to Path of Exile. With this expansion, players can access the Asynchronous Trade upon reaching Act 6 and by interacting with Faustus.

Along with this, the expansion also features a bunch of quality of life enhancements, including the option to instantly swap and use an Augmentation Orb when using Alteration Orbs. Heist Rogues will also automatically begin at maximum level, while the Atlas Passive Tree and the regular Passive Skill Tree will be instantly refundable with Gold.

Finally, the expansion will have the Keepers Challenge League featuring 40 new challenges. By completing these, players will unlock the Keeper of the Flame Armour Set.

Path of Exile: Keepers of the Flame will be released on October 31, 2025 (PDT). For more details, check out the complete patch notes.
