Following the game’s launch, Ubisoft announced that Anno 117: Pax Romana had become the fastest-selling game in the franchise.
To be exact, Ubisoft revealed that the latest Anno game is now the fastest-selling game in the franchise’s 25-year history. While no specific sales numbers were shared, this is still great news for the series. Ubisoft also confirmed that the game ranked as #2 Steam best-seller globally, including among the top three best-sellers in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Along with its sales numbers, the game has also gotten good reviews, with Anno 117 currently sitting at an 85 on Metacritic, with a 94% Critics Recommend on OpenCritic. Thanks to this, Anno 117 is now the best-reviewed game in the franchise.
Finally, Ubisoft said that it is the fastest-growing title in the series. During its first week, the game got an average daily playtime of 3.7 hours.
Of course, that’s not to say everything has been smooth sailing (or building) for Anno 117. Currently, the game has mixed reviews on Steam, with many of the complaints centering around the game’s use of AI assets. As such, it’ll be interesting to see how this player reception will affect the game in the coming weeks and months.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more info on the game, visit the official website.
