Following Joker’s launch two weeks ago, SEGA has now released Ichiban Kasuga, the next guest character in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
While Ichiban is no doubt a familiar face for Yakuza fans, for those who don’t know him, Ichiban is the protagonist of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Essentially, he has taken over Kazuma Kiryu’s role in the series, at least for the new mainline entries moving forward.
Aside from adding Ichiban to the roster, the latest free update for Sonic Racing also adds a new machine called Dragon Brave. This vehicle is based on Ichiban’s back tattoo, which is a cross between a koi and a dragon.
Plus, the update also adds new tracks, including:
- Asphodelos
- YUSHA NO KISEKI (Jukebox only)
To celebrate Ichiban’s release in the game, the special Ichiban Kasuga collaboration event is going live tomorrow.
During this in-game event, players can join one of three teams and compete to score the most points. Each race also offers a different challenge. By participating, players can earn Festival Points that can be used to unlock exclusive in-game items, including a new decal, horn, and more.
