After releasing Ichiban Kasuga earlier this month, SEGA announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds players can now get the SpongeBob SquarePants Pack.
In case you missed it, SEGA announced even before the game’s launch that the latest Sonic Racing game will get a SpongeBob DLC. This is a paid DLC pack, unlike the recent CrossWorlds additions of Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza and Joker from Persona. That’s because the SEGA and Atlus guest characters are free, while racers from other IPs are only available as paid DLC.
Players who purchase the SpongeBob SquarePants Pack will get two new racers, a new course, and a new machine. Plus, players with the pack can also enjoy original tracks inspired by the beloved animated series.
This DLC specifically adds SpongeBob and Patrick, and both racers can drive the new Patty Wagon machine (based on the iconic Krabby Patty). Plus, players can also race across the Bikini Bottom track, featuring notable locations like the Krusty Krab.
As for the new songs, the DLC adds the following tracks to the jukebox:
- Bikini BOTTOM: Intro (Original Track）
- Bikini BOTTOM (Original Track）
- Bikini BOTTOM: Final Lap (Original Track）
- SpongeBob SquarePants: Character Select (Original Track）
- SpongeBob SquarePants: Result (Original Track）
To celebrate the DLC’s launch, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is hosting a special SpongeBob SquarePants collab event. This will be live from November 21, 2025, 8:00 AM until November 24, 2025, 7:59 AM (PH time), and it will feature various challenges, with the goal being to get the most points. By earning and subsequently spending Festival Points, players can unlock exclusive items.
Finally, SEGA announced that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Digital Deluxe Edition for PS5 and Switch is available now with a 30% discount. Plus, anyone who plays the game from November 31 to December 13 will get a free Sonic Adventure decal.
The SpongeBob Squarepants Pack is now available as a separate purchase for owners of the game’s standard edition. Meanwhile, owners of the Season Pass and the game’s Deluxe Edition now have access to the pack.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch 2, Switch, and PC.
