It has been three years since The Way of Water, and finally, Avatar: Fire and Ash is coming to cinemas in the Philippines on Decmeber 17.
This is two days before the film’s US release on Decmeber 19 (technically, 3 days given time zone differences). Not only is this a treat for fans in the Philippines, but it’s also great news as it means the movie will get guaranteed screenings for one week. After all, the Metro Manila Film Festival is happening from Dec 25, 2024, to January 14, 2025; and during this time, all cinemas (except IMAX and other special cinemas) will not screen any foreign films.
Ahead of the film’s release in the Philippines and most of the world, a global premiere rollout kicked off on December 1 (Pacific time) with the ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ World Premiere in Hollywood. There, James Cameron appeared, and he was joined by cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, Edie Falco, Duane Evans, Jr., and Dileep Rao.

Tickets for Avatar: Fire and Ash in the Philippines are on sale now, and as a bonus, groups of four who buy tickets for IMAX and 4DX cinemas early will get various freebies.
Here’s how it works:
- Buy four (4) ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ IMAX tickets from November 18 to December 16 and get four (4) popcorn buckets, one (1) printed photo, one (1) pin, and one (1) poster from IMAX in SM Cinemas.
- Buy four (4) ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ 4DX tickets from November 18 to December 16 and get four (4) food bundles, one (1) photo print, and one (1) poster from 4DX in Bonifacio High Street and U.P. Town Center.
