Supergirl is the next DC Studios movie, and it recently got its first-ever teaser, along with an official cinema release date in the Philippines. Specifically, the film is coming to PH cinemas on June 24, 2026 – nearly one year after the 2025 Superman film.
Technically, this isn’t Supergirl’s first appearance in James Gunn’s new DC cinematic universe. After all, she appeared at the end of this year’s Superman movie to fetch Krypto from her cousin.
Now though, fans can get a better idea of what to expect in this version of Supergirl, courtesy of the teaser trailer for her upcoming solo film outing. You can check it out here:
Note that Supergirl isn’t directed by Gunn, though he is producing the film. Plus, it should be in good hands as Craig Gillespie (the director of Cruella and I, Tonya) is at the helm. As for its star, Supergirl features Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) as Kara Zor-El. She is joined by Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
Meanwhile, its synopsis is as follows:
When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl (Milly Alcock), reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.
Supergirl is coming to PH cinemas next year on June 24, and we expect it to have a wide release, much like Gunn’s Superman. Based on what we’ve seen from the trailer, there’s definitely a lot to be excited about in this movie.
