After revealing its Spring 2026 release window a few months ago, Dorohedoro Season 2 now has an official release date: April 1. Best of all, the long-awaited next season of Dorohedoro will premiere on various platforms this April.
Specifically, the show will premiere on April 1st at 11 PM JST (that’s 10 PM PH time), almost simultaneously worldwide on an array of platforms. This is an interesting development, especially considering that the first season was a Netflix exclusive.
The new season’s release date was shared on the anime’s official website, along with a new visual featuring new and returning characters from Season 1.
The show’s second season will once again be animated by MAPPA, with Yuichiro Hayashi returning as the director. Most of the staff from Season 1 are also returning, with the voice cast also expected to remain the same.
For now, there’s no word on how many episodes the second season will have. Given that the first season only had 12 episodes, we expect this follow-up to also be the same length. Considering that Season 1 only covered 40 chapters, if Season 2 also had the same episode length, that means we’ll get to the halfway point of the manga’s story after this season’s finale.
It took quite a while for the new Dorohedoro season to be made. Hopefully, the show will get renewed more quickly this time so that we get a full adaptation. After all, the Dorohedoro manga is an impressive and insane work, in the best way possible.
