Marathon Server Slam happening from February 27 to March 3

The Server Slam will give players a good taste of what to expect in Marathon when it launches next week.

With the game’s launch just a week away, Bungie is holding the Marathon Server Slam from February 27 to March 3, 2026.

As its name implies, this Server Slam is a stress-test of the game’s servers to iron out some kinks ahead of the launch on March 6. This test will be available to players worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam from February 27, 2026, at 2 AM PH time.

During the test, players can try out Marathon with a limited selection of maps, Runner shells, and contracts. Aside from getting to try the game out early, participants of the Server Slam can get various rewards when the game launches, including tiered gear packages and cosmetic Twitch Drops.

Upon launch, the game will get more maps, factions, gear, and more as part of Season 1. Note that, unlike the launch version, the Server Slam will not require PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass. Plus, this will be part of the Xbox Free Play Days and Steam Next Fest.

It’s fair to say that Marathon’s development has been quite a bumpy one. Aside from a plagiarism controversy, the game also got delayed indefinitely back in June to give the developers more time to work on and polish the experience. Even though there were many setbacks, Bungie seems to have made some big strides in the game’s development, as its March release date did not get delayed anymore.

Marathon will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 6, 2026 (or March 5 in other regions/timezones).
