New Chinese animated film ‘Nobody’ is now showing in the Philippines

Here's another movie you may want to check out on the big screen!

Fresh after the release of The Legend of Hei II, the new Chinese animated film Nobody is opening in cinemas in the Philippines today.

For those unfamiliar, Nobody is an animated fantasy film that was released in China back in August 2025. The film became a huge hit, and it is officially the highest-grossing 2D animated movie by a Chinese studio, earning over USD 200 million. This is an impressive feat, especially considering that most big animated movies at the box office have 3DCG animation.

To give you a better idea of what to expect, you can check out the film’s trailer here:

As for its story, Nobody follows a pig, a toad, a weasel, and a gorilla as they form a team and embark on a journey to the west. In their quest, the unlikely group must face various trials.

Based on the premise, this movie seems to be very much inspired by the Journey to the West. Of course, this is far from a standard adaptation, as it’s quite a different take on the iconic Chinese story. This film is much smaller in scale, but that’s a big part of its appeal.

Nobody is now showing in cinemas across the Philippines. For more details, visit the official Encore Films Philippines pages on Facebook and Instagram.
