In case you missed it, DC Studios shared the first teaser for Lanterns, the upcoming DC Studios live-action series. This upcoming series will be part of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. As such, it should be a must-watch for fans who have enjoyed the DC live-action projects under James Gunn, including the likes of Superman, Peacemaker, and more.

What also makes this special is that, based on the trailer, it won’t be like your typical live-action superhero project, as we see that it’s more of a detective drama with a bit of a Western theme. In fact, its story is inspired by other notable shows like Slow Horses and True Detective. Of course, it’s still a DC project, meaning its story will center around the Lantern Hal Jordan, who must train the recruit, John Stewart.
This new Lantern series by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television stars Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, and Nathan Fillion (who reprises his role as Guy Gardner). The series is set to debut this August on HBO Max. For now, there’s no word on an official release date, but we do know that it will have 8 episodes.
What we have a date for is Supergirl, the next DC Studios movie, which is coming to PH cinemas on June 24, 2026.
