Crimson Desert surpasses 5 million copies sold, continuing its impressive run

Crimson Desert's sales might not be slowing down anytime soon!

Just two weeks after reaching 4 million sales, Pearl Abyss announced that Crimson Desert has now sold over 5 million copies, making it one of this year’s best-selling games.

This latest sales milestone was shared on the Crimson Desert official social media pages. There, it was confirmed that the game has now surpassed 5 million copies sold just less than a month after its release.

Typically, games like these get the most sales during the first week or two after launch, after which the sales numbers see a noticeable drop-off. While Crimson Desert also sold 4 million copies in its first two weeks, the fact that its sales numbers haven’t dropped off massively is a sign that many players continue to be intrigued by this game.

While it’s not the top-selling game of 2026 so far, it’s definitely up there alongside the likes of Resident Evil Requiem (which has sold over 6 million copies already). What makes it even more impressive is the fact that Crimson Desert is a new game, and is not a new installment in an already popular IP.

Given how the game’s sales are tracking, coupled with the fact that it continues to be among the top sellers on Steam, we won’t be surprised if the game’s sales numbers continue to climb in the coming weeks.

Crimson Desert is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac.
