After bringing the feature to the US earlier this year, Google has now launched Personal Intelligence in the Gemini app in the Philippines.
So, what exactly is Personal Intelligence? As its name implies, it is a feature in Gemini that allows it to access your data from other Google apps and services to give you more tailored recommendations. Specifically, it connects to apps like Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube, and Search, meaning Gemini will base its answers on your needs, with no need to go hyper-specific with your queries.
For example, you can ask Gemini for a trip itinerary based on your previous trips. If Gemini has Personal Intelligence on, it will look through your Google Photos account and recommend sights that are close to what you liked before.
Of course, given that it gets access to various Google services under your account, Personal Intelligence is designed with privacy in mind. By default, connecting apps is turned off, so you can choose which apps it can connect to. You can also turn this off at any time. What’s more, Gemini will explain the information it gives you with sources of where it got the details from (like if an answer is based on your Search history or Photos album).

This new feature is rolling out starting today to personal Google accounts for eligible Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers. Users can enable it by:
- Opening Gemini and tap Settings
- Tapping Personal Intelligence
- Selecting Connected Apps (Gmail, Photos, etc.)
Note that Personal Intelligence is still in beta, so there may still be inaccurate responses. It can also still struggle with identifying nuances, so users are encouraged to provide feedback by giving responses a “thumbs down” if they aren’t helpful or if they assumed wrongly.
