Infinix GT 50 Pro Impressions | A Gaming Phone Made for Esports

Yes, this is the official smartphone of MPL Philippines.

Recently, we got our hands on the new Infinix GT 50 Pro, a gaming smartphone that promises to be a great partner for esports, enough that it is the official phone of MPL Philippines.

While the Android smartphone market is quite a competitive one, Infinix has made a name for itself over the years, especially here in the Philippines. This is thanks to its bang-for-buck devices in its NOTE lineup, as well as its GT Series of gaming smartphones. The GT Series has been available here for years now. In fact, we got to try out the Infinix GT 10 Pro a few years back, and it impressed us back in 2023.

It’s now 2026, and Infinix is gearing up for the launch of the new GT 50 Pro, which promises to once again deliver great performance, especially for esports/competitive multiplayer titles.

When we got the phone, it came with a special package that highlights how it’s the official MPL Philippines gaming phone. Plus, the package comes with a cooling fan inside.

As this is a gaming phone, the first thing we tried when we got our hands on it was an array of games. This phone is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate processor with 12GB of RAM. On paper, this is great, and this was reflected in our experience, as the GT 50 Pro ran popular multiplayer games like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile with no issues at the higher settings. Gameplay also felt smooth thanks to the high refresh rate screen.

It also has enough power to run more demanding games like Genshin Impact, though it does get noticeably warm in the back when you play for a while. That’s where the cooling fan comes in. With this, the heat is dissipated better, meaning you should have a more comfortable experience. Just take note that you’ll need to plug the cooling fan into the phone’s port for it to work.

Also helping the gaming experience is the phone’s large 6.78-inch screen. Not only does it have a fast refresh rate, but it also has a higher-than-1080p resolution, meaning you get a sharp image. It’s also an AMOLED panel, so you get vibrant colors and deep blacks.

Style-wise, the phone is also quite striking, thanks in large part to the lights at the back. Similar to a gaming laptop, you can edit the colors and effects of the lights, giving you more options if you want your device to stand out. Of course, you can turn the lights off if you want to go more low-profile.

Battery life should also be quite long, thanks to its 6500mAh battery. While we haven’t tested the battery life fully, we can say that it charges decently fast. Thanks to the 45W fast charger, you can reach 100% from zero in around an hour and a half.

Finally, its cameras seem quite promising, thanks in large part to the AI processing capabilities. As with the battery and other performance aspects, we haven’t tried the phone enough yet to give a full verdict, but these look quite promising overall.

We did notice that the phone has plenty of pre-installed apps. While some might see this as annoying bloatware, the good thing is that you can uninstall most of these apps.

Based on our initial time with the phone, we can say that the Infinix GT 50 Pro is a promising device that should have no problems delivering on its promise of being a great esports gaming partner, especially at its price of around PHP 25k. Hopefully, the phone also delivers when it comes to everyday reliability and other aspects.

The GT 50 Pro will be released in the Philippines on June 10, with buyers getting exclusive launch discounts worth up to PHP 2,000.
