The Pokémon Company has once again teamed up with ANA for new Pokémon 30th Anniversary jets, and they’re going to begin service this year.
ANA has a long history of Pokémon collaborations, as the Japanese airline was the first to debut a Pokémon jet way back in 1998. Currently, ANA has two Pikachu jets in service: Pikachu Jet NH, which is a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with Rayquaza as the centerpiece, along with Eevee Jet NH, which features Eevee and its various evolutions.
Recently, ANA unveiled even more Pokémon jets to celebrate the iconic franchise’s 30th Anniversary. Previously, the first two jets were revealed, the first of which is the Pokémon Jet Red, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner featuring all the Fire-type starters. This jet will fly domestic routes starting July 29 at the following airports: Sapporo (New Chitose), Hakodate, Osaka (Itami), Takamatsu, Matsuyama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Okinawa (Naha), Miyako, and Ishigaki.
Next is Pokémon Jet Green, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner featuring the various Grass-type starters. As it’s a larger plane, this is set to fly international routes, though exact destinations will be revealed soon. Its launch is also set to be announced at a later date.
Finally, ANA revealed the third and final jet yesterday. The Pokémon Jet Blue is a Boeing 737-800 featuring the Water-type starters. Since it’s the smallest plane, it will fly domestic routes in Japan. Similar to the Green jet, there’s no word yet on a launch date or confirmed routes.
Similar to the other ANA collab jets, passengers aboard these planes will be able to buy special souvenirs on board. Plus, food and drinks will be served in special Pokémon-themed containers.
More details about this 30th anniversary collab can be found on the official ANA website.
In related news, the first-ever Pokémon Center pop-up is opening in the Philippines later this year.
