With the event happening in just a month, the gamescom 2026 organizers revealed that all exhibition areas at the event have been completely booked for the first time.
The previous year’s gamescom already broke new records, so the 2026 event getting fully booked proves that interest in it is increasing even more. This is great news for gamers who still love going to physical events, considering that E3 is no longer being held. Plus, this record also means gamescom is easily the biggest gaming event in the West right now.
For the 2026 event, the confirmed exhibitors include: aerosoft, astragon, Bandai Namco, Bilibili, Capcom, CD PROJEKT RED, Daybreak Games, Deep Silver, Douyin, Electronic Arts, Embark Studios, Fandom, Focus Entertainment, GameMeca, Giants, Google Play, heise jobs, HoYoverse, INVEN, Konami, Krafton, Level Infinite, marqet agency, Nazara Technologies Ltd., NC, NetEase, Nintendo, Republic of Gamers, Ruliweb, SEGA, Tencent, The LEGO Group, ThisIsGame, TikTok, Ubisoft, and XBOX.
Aside from big booths from these exhibitors, this year’s gamescom will also feature Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live once again, with confirmed showcases such as METRO 2039 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past.
The event will also feature community highlights, such as the gamescom GDQ, which is the first Games Done Quick event in Europe. The cosplay village is also returning, alongside the gamescom event arena, which will host a variety of programs and contests.
Given that the 2026 event has been fully booked, the German Games Industry Association and Koelnmesse are already in the planning stage for expanding the event in 2027. Regarding this, Tim Endres, Director of gamescom, said:
“That gamescom is completely booked up is a strong signal for the entire industry. We only just expanded the area last year, so we are all the more pleased with the increasing demand. At the same time, we are continually developing gamescom further and investing in new formats for fans and communities. It is precisely this connection of business and community experience that distinguishes gamescom.”
Meanwhile, Felix Falk, Managing Director of game – The German Games Industry Association and co-organizer of gamescom, said:
“It is already clear now that gamescom 2026 will be bigger than ever. Exhibitor demand is higher than it has ever been. Fans can look forward to a full program – on location in Cologne and in livestream everywhere in the world. gamescom Opening Night Live, the expanded gamescom awesome indies show, or gamescom GDQ, which is celebrating its premiere this year: those are only a few of the highlights that raise anticipation for the world’s largest games event many weeks prior to the start.”
gamescom 2026 is happening August 26 to 30, 2026, at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.
