It has been almost a year since the game’s launch, and to celebrate, Garena announced the 1st anniversary celebration for HAIKYU!! FLY HIGH, which begins tomorrow. As part of this celebration, the game is getting new SP characters, a new game mode, and more cosmetics.
For starters, there are two brand-new SP characters: SP Korai Hoshiumi (Winter Sports) and SP Sachiro Hirugami (Winter Sports) of Kamomedai High School. Korai Hoshiumi is a wing spiker with an extraordinary jump height and great attack power, while Sachiro Hirugami is a defensive expert middle blocker. Aside from being nice additions gameplay-wise, these new characters should be quite exciting for fans of the anime/manga.
Next up, players can get special 1st anniversary rewards by just logging in. From July 22 to August 5, players who log in to the game can claim Portrait Frames and Chat Frames that are available only during the event. The log-in rewards also include two backgrounds, with one featuring Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, while the other features Tooru Okawa and Haijme Iwaizumi.
Along with these, daily log-ins will reward players with SP Recruit Tickets, UR Recruit Tickets, and UR Player Boost Cards. These should give players more options to power up their roster.
Freebies are also up for grabs with the special “Make UR Wish” and “Gym Cleanup” events. Here, players can earn a UR Player and claim SP Hitoshi Ginjima for free.
How the “Make UR Wish” event works is that players must complete certain challenges. By doing so, players can get a chance to select a UR-rarity player of their choice. As for SP Hitoshi Ginjima, players can claim this character for free by completing daily tasks that are part of the “Gym Cleanup” event.
Finally, the 1st anniversary celebration arrives with a new mini-game called “Showdown! Midnight Treasure Hunt!”. This mini-game tasks players with exploring and searching for items in the camp dormitory before the time runs out.
The game’s anniversary celebration is happening from July 22 to August 19, 2026.
