Bandai Namco Entertainment recently announced that Once Upon a KATAMARI is coming to Switch 2 alongside a new DLC this October.
To be exact, the game is coming to Nintendo’s latest console as the Once Upon A KATAMARI Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition, and it will include the new Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC. This new DLC pack will add 10 live-streaming-themed quests from the mobile game Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE.

Along with a Standard Edition, the game will also be released in the Once Upon A KATAMARI Royal Sound Edition, which will include:
- Base Game
- Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC
- Katamari Damacy Series songs: Side A
- Katamari Damacy Series songs: Side B
- Katamari Damacy Series Neo Remixes
- Katamari Damacy Series Dance Dance Remixes
Note that the Royal Sound Edition will replace the Once Upon A KATAMARI King of Sound Edition in October.
As for existing owners of the Switch version, they’ll be able to transfer their save data onto the Switch 2 edition. Plus, players with the Switch version will get a free update to unlock the mouse control feature.
Once Upon A KATAMARI is launching on Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. Meanwhile, the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC will be available for purchase separately on PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on the same day.
