Pokémon GO Update Finally Addresses the Pidgey and Rattata World Infestation! Daily Bonuses, Gym updates, and more too! (11-08-16)

Finally, an update that will end the Pidgey and Rattata infestation!

Niantic Labs‘ latest update of Pokémon GO is now available download via Google Play (v 0.45.0) and App Store (1.15.0).

Key features of update includes:

 

Daily Bonuses

Daily Bonuses – Catch and PokeStop

  • Daily Bonuses
    • Earn bonuses for the first Pokémon catch, and PokéStop visit each day. Receive a larger bonus when you do this seven days in a row. Read more details, here.
    • With the introduction of Daily Bonuses and as added treat, from November 7 to 11, you’ll find more Pokémon out in the world. Moreover, PokéStops will grant more items! Yes — this means more Great Balls, and for Trainers that are level 20 and above — more Ultra Balls!
  • Gym Prestige updates:
    • When you defeat the Gym Leader at a rival Gym, there will be a brief period of time where only you will be able to place a Pokémon in the open Gym.
    • The amount of Prestige a rival Gym loses when you defeat a regular Gym member has increased. The amount of Prestige gained by training at a friendly Gym has been lowered.
  • Minor text fixes

 

Even better, last week Niantic also announced the diversification of common Pokémon spawns. It is expected you’ll encounter other Pokémon than Pidgey, Rattata and Zubat.

 

and Eevees can now be hatched from 5KM eggs. Pidgeys and Rattatas will no longer hatch from Eggs.

We’ll finally see less and less Pidgeys and Rattatas in the world!
