Huawei unveils the MatePad T 8 Kids Edition and Watch Kids 4 Pro

Huawei has just revealed two new kid-friendly devices in the Philippines, the MatePad T 8 Kids Edition and Watch Kids 4 Pro. Unlike their more “adult” counterparts, these new devices feature bright colored-designs and a wealth of safety features, making them the ideal first devices for kids.

First up, we have the MatePad T 8 Kids Edition. This special version of the MatePad T 8 is recommended for ages 3-6, and it comes with a brightly-colored Kids Case made from environmentally safe silicone. The case comes with a a blue shell and a green grip for ease of use.

Aside from the case, the tablet has numerous safety features, including numerous parental controls via the Kids Corner function. The tablet even has a feature where the Matepad will alert the user if it detects that a user is using the tablet while lying flat; in this situtation, the tablet prompts the user to encourage them to adjust their posture. On top of these, when the eBook mode is enabled, the tablet automatically adjusts the contrast, brightness, sharpness, saturation, color temperature, grayscale, and more for a more comfortable viewing experience.

As for the Watch Kids 4 Pro, this kid-friendly smartwatch includes features like Huawei’s own self-developed network positioning services. With this, parents can get location data of their kids, and even receive notifications when their kids leave or enter the set Safe Zone.

Aside from these nifty features for parents, the Watch Kids 4 Pro supports HD video calls, is 5ATM water-resistant, and has software designed with kids in mind.
