Yes, you heard it right. Genshin Impact has an ongoing collaboration with Pizza Hut–and history manages to repeat itself. It would seem that no matter which popular fastfood chain they work with, good ol’ Hoyoverse can’t catch a break.

This abrupt cancellation comes hot off the heels of their 3.0 Sumeru update, with the event itself being exclusive to China. It features two of our staple Monstadt-ians, Outrider Amber and the avatar of tsundere vengeance, Eula–complete with server garb.

The ongoing Genshin Impact event saw quite a few Pizza Hut establishments getting filled to capacity, with extremely long waiting times. As seen in the aforementioned tweet, establishments actually had to close down due to the excessive demand. Unsurprising, given the popularity of one of Hoyoverse’s best-selling gacha titles. Still, we’re hoping things go smoothly, and no character cardboard cut-outs don’t go missing.

In case you missed it, Genshin Impact just dropped their 3.0 update which features a whole new nation, a new element, and a variety of new characters. Check out the updates if you’re looking to take a trip to Sumeru.
