At Summer Game Fest 2023, SEGA shared a new trailer for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, featuring our first proper look at gameplay.

While many fans expected that Gaiden will get a new trailer at the RGG Summit Summer event, SEGA surprisingly shared the game’s gameplay reveal trailer at Geoff Keighley’s event. And based on the trailer, fans will be delighted to know that this upcoming title will feature the signature Yakuza beat-em-up combat.

Check out the new trailer for Gaiden here:

In case you missed its initial reveal, Gaiden is a spin-off that will once again let players control Kazuma Kiryu, the Dragon of Dojima. Specifically, this game will take place between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It’s called “The Man Who Erased His Name” as in this time, Kiryu has taken a new identity.

From the gameplay trailer, this will be a long-awaited return to the classic Yakuza-style combat. After all, the last proper Yakuza game was Kiwami 2 which was released in 2018. While there’s Judgment, it’s not exactly a Yakuza game. And as for Like a Dragon, it was a major departure given the RPG gameplay.

Also revealed at the end of the trailer is the Legendary Fighter Pack which features Daigo Dojima, Goro Majima, and Taiga Saejima. This pack will be available to players who pre-order the game.

Like a Dragon Gaiden will be released on November 9, 2023, for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
