Following its teaser last week, Uniqlo finally unveiled the Chainsaw Man x Kosuke Kawamura UT collection featuring brand-new designs.

While this is the first time that Uniqlo released a collection inspired by the popular (and incredibly violent) anime by MAPPA, this isn’t the first anime collaboration for the Japanese clothing giant. After all, there have been several big collabs such as the Spy x Family and CLAMP collections.

Meanwhile, this also isn’t the first time that artist Kosuke Kawamura was tapped to create work for a collection. While Kawamura already oversees all graphic tees by Uniqlo given that he’s the creative director of UT, there are collabs where Kawamura does brand-new artwork. For instance, there’s the 2019 Dragon Ball collection.

Regarding the collaboration, Kosuke Kawamura said: “I used a lot of the original anime art and scenes for this collection. Since the drawings are very detailed, it was easy to expand the range of ideas as design material, and I was able to try various collage styles and methods. Even in the rough original drawings, the pictures themselves are well finished, and I felt that they could be used as-is for T-shirt designs. My aim was to create designs that long-time fans of Chainsaw Man could enjoy as something a little different, and that people unfamiliar with the anime would want to wear as well.”

Given  that Kawamura created brand-new designs, the pieces in this collection have striking graphics that feature his signature collage style. Check out all the t-shirt designs here:

Uniqlo Philippines confirmed that these tees will be released in the country, though there’s no word on if the sweatshirts will also be released in the PH. For now, these are only confirmed to release in Japan.

Here’s a look at the designs:

The Uniqlo UT x Chainsaw Man collection graphic tees will be released in the Philippines on August 18, 2023. Each t-shirt will be priced at PHP 790.

Meanwhile, the collection will be released in Japan on August 4. As for the US, this collab will arrive in stores and online in late August.
