Mobile Suit Gundam IBO: Urdr-Hunt anime announced

The Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr-Hunt mobile game is getting an anime soon.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

The Gundam mobile game Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans: Urdr-Hunt or IBO: Urdr-Hunt will receive an anime adaptation, and it is now under production.

The announcement was revealed on Urdr-Hunt’s official X/Twitter account on November 7, 2023, along with a minute-long trailer featuring characters from the game. Not much information has been released yet including the release date and what format the anime would be.

But considering Sunrise’s past releases on these kind of projects we might also get an OVA series from this title, although take that with a grain of salt.

IBO: Urdr-Hunt is a mobile game and a spin-off title of Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans. It takes place between the two seasons of the main series. The game follows the story of the main character Wistario Afam, a boy from Venus and the pilot of Gundam Hajiroboshi, as he strives to make Venus a proper colony. He eventually meets a girl who leads him to the “Urdr-Hunt,” promising Wistario that he will get what he desires.

The IBO: Urdr-Hunt mobile game presents its story through a mix of game and fully-voiced animated cut-scenes. Unfortunately for the mobile game, it was announced that it will end its service on January 11, 2024.

But at least, we will now get an anime movie based on this spin-off title, considering that the game did not have a global release and IBO’s ending received split reception among its fans.

In related news, the Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. Engage strategy game was released recently in the West.
