Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is dropping in soon.

ONE Store Beta Now Available

It’s 2020, you’re stuck at home and there’s nothing much to do. You see that there’s a countdown in Modern Warfare’s main menu and suddenly, Call of Duty: Warzone was released. A free-to-play Battle Royale mode that placed the franchise back under the mega spotlight. Within just 24 hours of the release, the game recorded over 6 million active players. After a year, it garnered over 100 million downloads. Warzone was one of the games to play during its prime. By March 21, we get to relive it all again on the release of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Here’s everything you need to know.

Warzone was a fresh and exciting take on the genre that was mostly dominated by Fortnite and Apex Legends at the time. It took the familiar, simplistic, and fast-paced action of CoD multiplayer and placed it on a large-scale map with 150 players to go up against. Whether you were playing solo or with a group of friends, it was an absolute thrill ride. The loadout system, scorestreaks, buying back teammates, 1v1 in the Gulag for a chance to respawn, these were all critical features that gave the game massive popularity in the mainstream. Players and content creators were were both dropping in everyday.

Over the years, there have been multiple iterations of Warzone on console and PC. Given that its content is tied to whatever the latest Call of Duty is at the time, there have been new modes, features, weapons, and maps that have come and gone. While each one has their own fair share of pros and cons, the majority sentiment points towards the fact that the best large-scale map of Warzone was the first one that was ever released. Ever since it left the game in 2021, fans have been calling for it to come back. Lucky for them…

Verdansk is coming back to Warzone

You read that right, the original Verdansk is coming back with the release of Warzone Mobile! Where we dropping? Superstore? Airport? Storage? Downtown? You can finally say those again and more of your original favorite drop spots. We’re going back to where it all started.

When playing the normal battle royale mode in Warzone Mobile, the Verdansk map will be able to load in an impressive 120 players into a singular lobby. It contains all the iconic landmarks you all know and love. It’s the same original map that made everyone fall in love with Warzone when it first launched. All in the convenience of your phone. No more console or PC needed. What an absolute game changer.

Rebirth Island is also coming

During the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Warzone was updated with an additional game mode called Resurgence. This was much more intimate in scale, only housing 40 players in a lobby because it took place at a smaller map called Rebirth Island, Call of Duty’s version of Alcatraz Island.

Resurgence, for lack of a better term, gave Warzone a much needed resurgence. At the time, the player base was already showing early signs of fatigue with the regular battle royale mode. Resurgence was a mode where players could spawn back in automatically as long as at least one member of their squad is still alive for a certain time. No winning the Gulag required. It introduced a much more frantic pace to the game that appealed to those who didn’t want to spend too much time in one long regular battle royale match.

For Warzone Mobile, the Resurgence mode on Rebirth Island will feature 48 players in a single lobby.

Regular Multiplayer in Warzone Mobile

Classic franchise maps such as Shipment, Scrapyard, and Shoot House will be available to play in with modes like Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Search & Destroy, Domination, including Hardcore variants of each.
