Blizzard and Sunrise recently teased the upcoming Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing collab that will go live on April 29, 2025.
Over the years, Overwatch 2 has collaborated with popular anime such as Cowboy Bebop and One-Punch Man. As such, it makes sense that the game is getting another anime crossover, this time with the hugely popular Gundam franchise.
What’s interesting here is that instead of collaborating with a new Gundam series (like the ongoing Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime), Overwatch 2 is getting a crossover with the iconic Gundam Wing anime.
Choosing Gundam Wing to collab with is a bit of a surprise, though it makes sense as the iconic Gundam anime is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To be exact, the anime premiered in Japan on April 7, 1995.
The new collab was shared via the game and the Gundam Wing info X accounts. These announcements came with a new visual, along with a teaser video that shows what seems to be a new Mercy skin.

The new skin seems to be based on the Wing Gundam Zero EW, which appeared in the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz.

Of course, this probably won’t be the 0nly skin in the collab. After all, previous Overwatch 2 anime collabs featured multiple new skins. Thus, we expect to see new Legendary Skins based on various Gundam Wing characters. Hopefully though, there will be more skins based on specific Mobile Suits.
