Acer unveils Predator Atlas 8 handheld powered by Intel

Everyone's excited to see just how powerful the Acer Predator Atlas 8 actually is.

Handheld gaming reaches a peak as the Acer Predator Atlas 8 brings PC-class, Intel-powered performance to mobile gaming fans. Announced on May 28, 2026, in Taipei, this latest addition to the Predator portfolio aims to blur the lines between traditional desktop power and mobile portability.

At its core, the device features the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and up to Intel Arc B390 graphics, which support ray tracing for richer visual detail. By utilizing Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling, the handheld maintains high frame rates and reduces stutter during demanding workloads, providing a consistent experience for serious PC gamers.

To sustain this high performance, the device debuts the first metal fan ever used in a handheld as part of the Predator AeroBlade cooling system. This dual-fan setup includes an 89-blade metal fan just 0.1 mm thick, delivering a 10 percent increase in airflow, while Vortex Flow tuning uses internal channels to guide heat out of the chassis more efficiently. Visuals are handled by an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support, ensuring smooth motion across its 16:10 aspect ratio. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC to reduce glare, while also supporting 10-point multi-touch for responsive interactions.

Control and connectivity are prioritized through ergonomic design and advanced hardware like dual Thunderbolt 4 ports and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7. Players can customize their experience using adjustable trigger switches, choosing between micro-switch response for shooters or Hall-effect analog control for racing games. Audio immersion is provided by DTS:X Ultra technology delivered through dual speakers, while dual microphones with Acer PurifiedVoice ensure clear communication.

Long sessions are supported by an 80 Wh battery and Intel Endurance Gaming technology, which balances power draw to maximize time on the road. Running on Windows 11 Home, the device includes access to XBOX Game Pass and the PredatorSense app for system monitoring and RGB customization.
