My Hero Academia ‘I am a hero too’ special anime episode announced

MHA is getting a new specail, and it will star Eri!

Following the release of the “More” OVA, My Hero Academia is confirmed to get a new special episode titled “I am a hero too.”

While the My Hero Academia anime ended in December 2025, the show’s finale did not spell the end for the franchise. After all, fans have been treated to various releases, such as the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime’s second season (which aired from January to March 2026) and the My Hero Academia: All’s Justice video game (which launched in February 2026).

Just a few days ago, the My Hero Academia More special episode was also released. In case you missed it, this new episode serves as a more proper epilogue for the anime, as it features the heroes of Class 1-A reuniting years after the Final War.

If that wasn’t enough MHA for you, then the great news is that a new special anime episode is in the works. Titled “I am a hero too,” this upcoming anime special was revealed recently via TOHO animation’s official pages.

While not a lot of details were shared, the announcement did confirm that the new anime will adapt the special manga drawn by Kohei Horikoshi in the “Ultra Age” fanbook. It’s also being produced to celebrate the MHA anime’s 10th anniversary.

Based on the info, this My Hero Academia special will adapt the Special One-Shot, aka Chapter 431.5. For those who haven’t read it yet, the chapter follows Eri, who is now in middle school. Given the length of the chapter, this upcoming episode should be fairly short, though it should still be a treat for long-time series fans.

For now, there’s no word on a release date for this MHA anime special. Hopefully, we’ll get a release date reveal soon. Plus, we’re also hoping to get more special projects like this in the future.
