After making a splash last month with an epic trailer, RGG Studio has now revealed the January 2027 release date of Stranger Than Heaven.
The game’s release date was revealed in a new trailer that was shown at Summer Game Fest 2026. Along with new clips of gameplay, the trailer also showed off some of the game’s new characters.
You can check out the new trailer here:
Among the new cast members that are confirmed to be part of the cast are Takashi Ukaji, Yasukaze Motomiya, Kouhei Tsuji, and Takaya Kuroda. Yes, Kiryu’s iconic Japanese voice actor is part of this new RGG Studio game, and his character is based on his real-life appearance.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the trailer was the reveal of hip hop legend Tupac Shakur. Similar to Bunta Sugawara’s posthumous appearance, Tupac’s appearance has been recreated in the game, with his voice and motion capture performance played by a different actor.
Following this reveal, many viewers were surprised, with some also sharing their reservations and concerns about Tupac’s appearance. After all, using the likeness of someone who has passed away is murky territory.
According to RGG Studio, Tupac’s integration was made “with the utmost respect to his legacy.” They also mentioned that they worked in close collaboration with Amaru Entertainment and used archival footage and photographs as references. Plus, no AI was used in crafting Tupac’s in-game model.

Stranger Than Heaven will be released on January 15, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
