Konami recently announced a new free update for Silent Hill f that adds a Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake collab costume for Hinako Shimizu. This follows the release of a Hinako outfit for Fatal Frame II, which was released back in March.
Specifically, this collab adds a special costume for Hinako that’s based on the outfit of Mio Preview (opens in a new tab)Amakura, the protagonist of Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake. This is a bit of an unexpected collab, though it’s definitely a treat for horror game fans. It’s also a fitting way to mark the resurgence of these two iconic franchises.
What’s cool about this costume is that, similar to Hinako’s default sailor-style school uniform, the Mio Amakura outfit also changes as the story progresses. In case you haven’t played the game yet, we won’t spoil what these changes are, but they’re definitely quite cool to see.
This costume is fittingly called the “Crimson Butterfly,” and it’s available now to all Silent Hill f players. To get the costume, players will need to update the game to Patch 1.2.0 or later.
Note that this collab only adds a new outfit, as there are no new scenarios or Fatal Frame-inspired additions here.

To celebrate this collab, the Standard and Deluxe Editions of Silent Hill f and Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake are available with discounts. Currently, Silent Hill f is available with a 50% discount on Steam, with Fatal Frame II having a 25% discount on the platform.
