Alongside the new Pura 90s Series, HUAWEI unveiled the MatePad Air, a productivity tablet that promises flagship-level performance, all while having an incredibly slim frame.
One of the highlight features of the newest MatePad is its portability. While previous HUAWEI tablets are already quite slim, the Air is no doubt the easiest to bring anywhere, thanks to the fact that it has a 5.3mm profile, coupled with its lightweight design.
Even though it’s designed to be an ultraportable device, it still packs an impressive display. Specifically, it has a 12-inch OLED PaperMatte display with a 2800 x 1840 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The PaperMatte coating means you get a paper-like feel for drawing/writing, as well as extra eye comfort when reading/watching videos for hours. While the tablet also has a non-PaperMatte option, all versions have a screen with a 92% screen-to-body ratio.
This tablet should also be a great partner for productivity, as it packs an integrated suite of AI tools, coupled with a capable Kirin T93C processor that should be able to handle office and creative apps without issues.
Speaking of apps, the MatePad Air also comes with PC-level WPS Office, which has AI tools and Microsoft Office file compatibility. The tablet also has GoPaint for drawing and art creation, as well as HUAWEI Notes for smart note-taking during meetings or classes.
Finally, the tablet features multiple eye-catching color options, along with support for HUAWEI’s Smart Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil Pro.
Finally, HUAWEI announced the price of the various MatePad Air variants and bundles in Europe. Each bundle’s inclusions and price tags are as follows:
- 8+256GB+Keyboard – EUR 849
- 8+256GB+Keyboard PaperMatte Edition – EUR 899
- 8+256GB+M-Pencil Pro PaperMatte Edition – EUR 899
- 12+256GB+Keyboard PaperMatte Edition – EUR 999
The new MatePad Air is also confirmed to launch in the Philippines this August alongside the Pura 90s Series. Its official launch date, along with price and pre-order details, will be revealed soon.
