After being confirmed to be in the works back in 2021, Ubisoft finally announced Star Wars Outlaws, a new Star Wars open world game that’s coming in 2024.

The game was officially revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, and it gives fans a new look at this new Star Wars game that’s unlike any other before. After all, while there have been many Star Wars games before, there hasn’t been an open world story-drive game like this one.

Check out the new trailer for Outlaws here:

Shortly after the game’s reveal, more details about the game were shared on the official Star Wars website. There, the game’s premise is described:

Set between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, players will step into the role of Kay Vess, a clever scoundrel in the galactic underworld. In Star Wars Outlaws, Kay is looking to attempt one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen, all in an effort to start a new life.

While the game’s trailer was pretty much all cinematics, Outlaws will be no doubt something that fans of the franchise will be looking forward to given how promising its premise is.

Star Wars: Outlaws will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2024. Currently, there’s no word yet on the game’s specific release date.
